The Clark County Historical Society will present the eleventh Springfield Civil War Symposium in its commemoration of the sesquicentennial of the American Civil War as a VIRTUAL webinar on Saturday, March 6, 2021 where renowned experts will compare leadership during the Civil War with that of World War II.

The day will include:
Frank J. Williams, Retired Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Rhode Island and acclaimed Lincoln expert. Williams will compare President Lincoln’s leadership with that of President Roosevelt and Winston Churchill.
Dr. Peter Mansoor, Colonel, US Army (Retired), military historian and professor at The Ohio State University will talk about the military leadership of Generals Eisenhower and Patton.
Dr. John F. Marszalek, William L. Giles Distinguished Professor from Mississippi State University, will look at Generals Grant and Sherman.
Craig L. Symonds, Professor of Maritime History at the U.S. Naval War College, will compare the use of naval power between the two conflicts.
