Mad Hatter Tea Party

For ages 6-10. Join us on Friday, April 4 5:30-7pm for a “mad” tea party where anything goes! Enjoy some fun treats, yummy teas, crazy games, and a craft to take home. This tea is just for kids, but parents are welcome to explore the galleries during the tea. Registration is $12.50/person. Pre-registration must be received by Friday, March 28.

speaker series - stories of the titanic

Join Jack Kinzer, Local Historian on Thursday, May 15 at 6pm to learn about the survivors, see replica artifacts from the first, second, and third class and discover an Anne Frank connection to the Titanic.

For ages 8 – 12; Children must be accompanied by an adult guardian. Saturday, May 10, 10-12pm Wear your Sunday best, don your fancy hat, and join us for a tea party. Enjoy tasty sweets and savories, play some old-fashioned games, and make a craft to take home. Bring your doll along for the fun, too! Registration is $12.50/person. Pre-registration is due by Friday, May 2.

little tikes Tea Party

For ages 5 – 7, Friday, May 2, 10-11:30am.
Bring your little one to enjoy some tasty treats, play some fun games, and make a craft to take home! Bring your favorite stuffed animal or baby doll. This tea is just for the little ones, but parents are welcome to visit the museum galleries while they wait. Registration is $12.50/child. Pre-registration is due by Friday, April 25.

Crabill Homestead, 2800 Croft Road - For families of all ages! Create your own fairy and gnome house for the creatures that live around the Crabill Homestead. You can also make one to take home. Bring a picnic lunch and a blanket to enjoy a picnic after the program. Pre-registration is required by Friday, May 23. This is a FREE program.

archaeology day camp

Join us for a week of digging, exploring, investigating and learning about archaeology. Participate in a dig and identify the artifacts found. Registration is $65/child ($55 for CCHS members). There is a discount for 2 or more children from one family. Pre-registration must be received by Friday, May 23. Space is limited so please register early!

Wizarding Day Camp

Our popular weekend Wizarding event has transitioned to a day camp for young wizards and witches in June 2025. Embark on a magical week of learning where STEAM, living history, and natural history all meet in this fun, Harry Potter-themed camp. Each day will bring new experiences, magical visitors, interactive activities, and more. On the last day of camp, join us for a Harry Potter feast and party. Registration is $75/child. ($65 for CCHS members). There is a discount for 2 or more children from one family. Pre-registration must be received by Friday, June 6. Space is limited so please register early!

Summer Sky

Join us August 2, 2025 for an afternoon of summertime fun. Bring your family and experience a wide variety of games, activities, entertainment, and more! Free food and drinks will be provided, along with school supplies for some of the first to arrive.

We invited you to step into the magic of the season as our 2nd Floor Hellmuth Rotating Gallery is transformed into an Enchanted Forest during the holidays. Wander through a twinkling wonderland of beautifully decorated holiday trees, each uniquely adorned to capture the festive spirit. Open during regular hours and for special visits with Santa (details TBA). Additionally, enjoy Springfield's weeks-long Holiday in the City celebration, which is jam packed with events and activities all throughout the downtown beginning after Thanksgiving and continuing into the new year.

Virtual Programs

We sometimes host virtual evening programs that highlight different topics from Clark County’s history, featuring our collections, and sometimes local guests. When planned, details are posted on our programming page calendar and Facebook.

History Table Talks

We sometimes premiere interviews from our Oral History Collection as part of History Table Talks. These are casual conversations about the lived experiences of local Clark Countians.
